Now that we’ve had a look at the main features and pricing, let’s see this review by learning how to integrate SignalZen with Slack.

How to Integrate SignalZen with your Slack Chat and WordPress website

Our SignalZen review won’t be complete without testing the service. In this section, we’ll see how you can use SignalZen to integrate your WordPress website with your Slack Chat.

First, sign up on the SignalZen website by clicking on the signup button as shown below.

Once you’ve signed up and logged in, you’ll be taken to the Integration page. If you’d like to manually go to the Integration page, click the menu sidebar on the left and press Integrations.

Then, click Start under WordPress.

On the next page, you will see a SignalZen WordPress plugin link as well as a public token for your chat service. Make sure you save this token somewhere handy because you’ll need it in the next step. Keep this page open while you install the SignalZen plugin.

Installing The SignalZen Plugin

Now it’s time to install the plugin on your website. Opening your WP Admin Dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New. Use the search bar to search for SignalZen, click Install on the plugin’s tab, and then activate it.

After the installation is complete, open the SignalZen interface by heading to Settings > SignalZen. Paste the Public token that you previously copied and then save the changes to proceed.

After that, go back to your SignalZen console page and press Next. Here, you will be able to select your Slack integration between Still Slack or Noisy Slack.

Still Slack creates threads under a single channel on your Slack chat for every new customer conversation. Alternatively, Noisy Slack will create a new Slack channel for each new customer chat. We recommend using Noisy Slack for smaller websites with fewer customers and Still Slack if you have a lot of customers. Simply choose the one that’s most appropriate for your needs.

Enabling Slack Chat Integration For SignalZen

For this demonstration, we’ll use the Still Slack integration. Click Select under your Selected Chat integration and then you’ll have to grant the tool access to your Slack chat.

Press Grant Access and you’ll be taken to a Slack page that requests permission to access your Slack workspace.

Click Allow and you’ll have to invite the SignalZen bot to your Slack live chat. For this, you can type in /invite @SignalZen to your preferred Chat channel. That’s it! This should finish your Slack Integration.

Now go back to the SignalZen console and click I Have Invited The Bot to proceed (if it doesn’t say that your Bot has been integrated).

Once you’re done, you’ll be taken to your Integration page that will show your website, tokens, secret API, and more. You can check if everything’s functioning properly by simply clicking the Send Test Message on the top.

If for some reason the test message doesn’t show up, you can simply restart the integration process. For this, press Re-Integrate on your SignalZen Integrations page.

Now you should see a chat icon on your website’s front-end and any message sent on this chat will be directly forwarded to your Slack chat.

That’s it! Your chat is ready to go and you can easily respond to your customers directly from your Slack chat!

Integrating Pre-Requisites form using SignalZen’s Console

Before finishing this review of SignalZen, we want to show you a few more things you can do. This tool offers a lot more than just enabling a customer chat.

For example, let’s have a look at how you can create and enable a Prerequisites form that your visitors have to fill in before chatting with your team.

First, open the SignalZen console on your browser and click Prerequisites Form on the left sidebar.

Then, press New Field on the top right to start creating your Form.

Choose the right field type as well as enable/disable accompanying options such as Required to fill in and Show field in Basic info(enabling this field will show the form field on your Slack messages basic field view).

You can then choose a language if you have multiple languages enabled and then simply type in the Field name. Click Save to create your field and then create all the required fields for your form repeating this process. Once you’ve added all the fields you want, remember to save the changes.

Now whenever your customers open the chat, they will have to fill in this form to start chatting with your support team.
